Heather is currently a Collaborative Programme Manager in the Service Improvement Team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and previously led on service developments for Sue Ryder Care in Oxfordshire and Berkshire having worked in the field of palliative care for twenty two years. During that time she been involved in local, regional and national initiatives to develop and promote palliative care services. These initiatives have included being chair of the Thames Valley Palliative Care Network, membership of the South Central Strategic Health Authorities End of Life Care Programme Board.

Heather also led on the transfer of palliative care services from the NHS to a third sector organization which has enabled the service to widen access for patients.

Sue is the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services at Rennie Grove Hospice Care formerly known as Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice care. Sue has been responsible for the development of a large Hospice at Home service across Herts and Bucks and was part of the collaboration across two organisations which led to merger two years ago.

She has been chair of the National Association for Hospice at Home for 3 years using the role to develop standards for Hospice at Home and working with Help the Hospices to identify model structures for Hospice at Home services across the country. She graduated from the Lancaster University in 2010 as part of the first cohort of the Masters in Hospice Leadership programme run jointly with the International End of Life Observatory and Help the Hospices.
